The Foot Clinic, Oak Lawn Lower Extremity Associates and WALKS Wound Centers may have a solution to the pain and discomfort you are experiencing; a nerve decompression procedure developed by a physician from John Hopkins University by the name of A Lee Dellon, MD.
Dr. Zappa successfully completed the Dellon course in 2004. Our practices have experienced great success performing this procedure, helping patients suffering from Neuropathy by reducing pain, tingling, numbness and other neuropathic symptoms. In many instances it has prevented the occurrence of wound formation, amputation and Charcot Arthropathy.
The surgical procedure is similar to the carpal tunnel syndrome and tarsal tunnel syndrome procedures performed in a hospital or surgery center, and takes about one to two hours (depending on the number of nerves that are affected).
